Nutrition should be varied and balanced. The black terrier, however, like other dogs, best digests and assimilates animal feed (meat, trimmings, offal, poultry, fish, dairy products). Although dogs have an increased acidity of gastric juice (to break down animal proteins), they can also use plant foods. Often in large offspring, puppies lag behind in development and are not adapted to life. They are born very small, weight and size do not reach the norm. And the bitch feeds only 6-7 puppies.
Every day, puppies should gain weight and height, which is the main indicator of good condition and development. And weight loss or its stability is an indicator of malnutrition, starvation, or illness in general.
If the lactating bitch does not have enough milk or poor development of puppies is observed, it is worth feeding litter.
