Bloodhound breed has a long history. It was first brought to England from Normandy by William the Conqueror. The name of the breed is translated from English as “purebred hound” – this implies not only their purpose (search by blood trail), but also their origin. These dogs were the result of crossing the hounds of Talbolt and St. Hubert. It is believed that the breed formed in the Middle Ages.
Bloodhound has a restrained and sensitive character. Relying mainly on his scent, he first sniffs you and only after that he “introduces himself”, but as soon as you get acquainted he will become very kind. Continue reading
